Sydney is an 11 year old girl who was diagnosed very late at the age of 9 with a change in the HDAC8 gene after several tests leading to no answers. Sydney was quickly labeled "failure to thrive". Her eating habits were very poor from birth and a tube was placed at 1 year. Sydney had torticollis and plagiocephaly and wore a helmet for 6 months. We have been very lucky in the health department with nothing serious as of yet. Pneumonia seems to be an annual problem. She does struggle with what might be a bit of anxiety shown in the way of sporadic behaviour. Sydney loves to play with baby dolls these days but also has a love for Kitten Surprise. She enjoys school, swimming and loves to dance! Sydney has a dog Ruby who she loves dearly!
